North Port, Florida, is a community that has grown to cover over 75 sq-mi in southern Sarasota County. Its rapid growth has been facilitated by annexation of communities like Warm Mineral Springs. History

North Port is barely a half-century old. Early residential development was completed by General Development Corporation.
